The Prosecution, commonly known as the public prosecutor, is an independent statutory authority which is appointed by the State to represent both the state as well as the society in Criminal trials. The Prosecution is often referred to as the “gatekeeper of the criminal justice process.

India is a democratic country and our Constitution rightly embodies this principle. It is the supreme law of the land and in this instrument the lawmakers ensured that it contained comprehensive fundamental rights for every citizen of India. These are given in Part III of the Constitution of India under Articles 12 to 35.

Defamation is when a person states harmful or negative things about another person that are not true. To defame someone means to strip that person of their dignified reputation and to harm their image in society.
